You can too.
You can too…
I always get comments like,
“Wow, you own a company? And you’re how old?”
“You foster? Isn’t it really difficult?!”
“You work in peoples homes?? Are you crazy?”
“You have goats! WHAT?”
“You manage to workout with a baby at home?”
Etc etc etc.
People act astonished when I answer questions about my current daily life. They ALWAYS end with “I couldn’t do it” or “I don’t know how you do it!”
My reply?
“Yes, you could.”
“If you wanted it enough OR you didn’t have another choice, you would do it”
That’s the bottom line.
I didn’t grow up in a world of riches.
I didn’t grow up in a culture of go getters.
I lived in a world of survival.
I watched my mom and dad both struggle to make ends meat. Pay check to pay check. They put dreams on back burners and survived.
Sure we made it. I didn’t sleep on dirt floors with scraps for meals. We had help.
But as far as growing up with “go getters” or “dream followers”… that sadly wasn’t reality.
So what makes me different?
I am willing to live with the fear to get where I want to go.
“Bravery”
-courageous behavior or character.
Being brave just means acknowledging the struggle, the fear and doing it anyways.
I WANT financial stability and work-life flexibility.
I WANT to make a difference in our community and with the families I see weekly.
I WANT to be a foster parent.
I WANT to have a little farm to raise my children amongst.
I WANT to be healthy and live a long beautiful life.
If you WANT it bad enough, you DO IT.
You figure it out.
You learn to roll with the punches, accept “failure” as stepping stones and figure it out as you go.
You don’t need to have it “all together” to start now.
Hell I didn’t have anything together when I started any of the above mentioned adventures.
But here I am! Company owner, foster parent, mini farm lover who takes care of her body and her mind!
Here’s your sign…
You can too!
